Our Story
Get Started began with a simple but powerful idea: that people going through major life transitions deserve more than a checklist and a moving truck.
In 2014, Dawn Robertson was a founding member of a senior transition company based in Langley, where she spent six years supporting older adults and families through downsizing, organizing, and complex moves. Over time, it became clear that there was a need for something more personal, more comprehensive, and more consistent.
In 2020, during the uncertainty of the COVID pandemic, Get Started Organizing & Maintenance was formed. Within weeks, Dawn and her son Garrett decided to become business partners — bringing together years of hands-on transition experience with a shared commitment to doing things the right way.
As the company grew, so did its identity. Today, Get Started Home Services exists to support homeowners, seniors, and families through life’s biggest transitions — by providing nearly every service needed to prepare a home for sale and help people move forward with confidence.
What sets us apart isn’t just what we do, but how we do it. We don’t see our work as a single job to complete. We focus on follow-through, clear communication, and staying connected with our clients long after the last box is unpacked.
