Start outside: curb appeal and exterior maintenance

A spotless home tells buyers it’s been cared for. Go beyond a regular tidy: kitchens and bathrooms especially, plus windows, floors, baseboards, and fixtures. Many sellers bring in a professional move-out or pre-listing clean to get it truly photo-ready.

Stage to show the home at its best

Staging is the finishing touch — arranging what’s there (or bringing in select pieces) so each room’s purpose is obvious and the space feels bright and inviting. You don’t need to stage every room; focus on the ones buyers weigh most: living room, primary bedroom, and kitchen. Simple wins include neutral bedding, fresh towels, a few plants, and furniture arranged to make rooms feel larger.
